Two young boys stand in the sun at City Hall Park in New York City Monday April 13, 1896. The boy at right looks directly at the camera while the boy at right looks to the right. Both hold in their hands the wooden stands they use for blackening boots. This photograph is one of the 12 included in Alice Austen's photogravure portfolio entitled Street Types of New York, published in 1896. |
